Working to Enable Quality Improvement: ONC's Current Work

This webinar will discuss ONC's vision and work to build HIT infrastructure for clinical quality improvement. Specifically, the Heath eDecisions (HeD) Standards & Interoperability (S+I) Framework initiative developed a standard XML structure for clinical decision support (CDS) interventions to facilitate scalable distribution of decision support artifacts so that any care provider will be able to more easily incorporate best practices. The presenters will share how this relates to their work in developing a health IT environment where clinical quality measures (CQM) and CDS are developed in concert with the same underlying logic, using data created and entered into EHRs during the regular course of care, enabling real-time application of best practices and knowledge at the point of care.
