DFW Chapter Making Strides in Texas

The Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) nursing informatics community is having its first elections as an ANIA chapter…actually, first elections ever! The group started as a conversation at HIMSS between Mary Beth Mitchell and Cheryl D. Parker. From the first planning meeting in a coffee shop near Southern Methodist University to tapping the nursing informatics leadership in the DFW area (including Liz Johnson, Donna Montgomery, Laura Maverick, and Mari Tietzi), the group has grown and is now an ANIA chapter. The DFW chapter has quarterly educational meetings with 30-40 attendees. They've also held a half-day workshop and will have their first conference this fall. Many thanks to everyone who made this organization a reality!

Participate in KLAS Survey on Alarm Management

KLAS is inviting ANIA members to participate in a survey about alarm management. Your responses contribute to a national understanding of issues and practices about this technology. The ANIA board urges you to participate. If you work in an area where alarms are used, your responses are valued.

A KLAS researcher will contact you after the survey is completed for a brief follow-up. The follow-up contact is for validating survey responses. As a responder, you will have access to KLAS reports (available in October) and the KLAS database.

In the past, our response rate has been very impressive. Let's continue our awesomeness!

Please hurry. The survey collection period ends in July!
