The University of Texas School of Biomedical Informatics at Houston (SBMI) is one of six schools at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) located in the Texas Medical Center—the largest contiguous medical center in the world. In the early years of the school, undergraduate degrees in allied health sciences were conferred until the school was restructured in 1997 to focus on health informatics, and shortly afterward, the school began offering master's and doctoral degrees. SBMI currently offers graduate programs at three levels:
