Applications are now being accepted for the ANIA Informatics Scholarships for Spring 2014. The deadline for receipt of all application materials is December 13, 2013. The application review will take place in December and January. Successful applicants will be notified the last week of January.
ANIA is strongly committed to advancing the educational preparation for nurses seeking graduate degrees in nursing and health care informatics. To qualify for an ANIA scholarship, you must be: a registered nurse enrolled in an accredited Masters program in nursing/health care informatics or enrolled in a Doctoral program with a focus on nursing/health care informatics; a member in good standing of ANIA for at least two years; and a citizen of the United States.
ANIA scholarships are competitive and merit-based. The ANIA Scholarship Selection Committee considers the main criteria for awards to be academic standing, scholarship, and potential for leadership and service to the nursing/health care informatics profession and community in general, and ANIA specifically. The application requires official transcripts, two letters of reference (one of which must be from the university program director for informatics), a goal statement essay, as well as any additional professional information.
In 2014, ANIA will award two scholarships, one at the Masters level and one at the Doctoral level. Each scholarship will be $1500. ANIA looks forward to receiving applications and providing this new member benefit.
