Healthcare 2020: How Emerging Technologies Will Advance Clinical Practice and Research

Big Data, Advanced Analytics, Wearable Sensors, Home Monitoring and Social Media Analytics are all emerging technologies that will shape future healthcare information systems. This presentation will explore emerging technologies as well as  their current and future healthcare information applications. Real world examples will be cited  in the presentation.

Speaker Bio:
Mr. Boicey is a registered nurse with over 20 year experience. His clinical practice includes trauma and critical care. He made the transition into informatics twelve years ago and is now the Informatics Solutions Architect for the University of California, Irvine (UCI). In his role as an architect, Mr. Boicey designs informatics solutions for clinicians, operations, quality and research. At UCI, he developed “Saritor” UCI’s “Big Data ecosystem. Mr. Boicey holds a MS in technology management from Stevens Institute of Technology, is the Vice President of the American Nursing Informatics Association and a member of the HIMSS Innovation Committee.
