5.  Take  a WINI  course --  Weekend Immersion in Nursing Informatics is a nursing informatics continuing education course that travels around the country to provide affordable, in-depth nursing informatics education. 

6.  Network with nurses in the specialty - if there is a nurse working in your IT dept. find out how she got into Nursing Informatics
