POSTER PRESENTATIONS

The main goal of our poster session is to offer conference attendees a chance to interact with the authors and to establish contacts. Posters are a reflection of the presenter and his/her institution and it is important to create a good impression.  Design your poster to look professional and to be easily read. There are many resources available to help presenters prepare effective professional and visually appealing posters.

 GUIDELINES

In recognition of your contribution as a presenter at the 2008 ANIA & CARING National Conference, you will receive a discounted registration for the conference.  Only one half price registration will be awarded per presentation.

Presenters will be responsible for all travel, meals and lodging expenses that may incur.

On your poster, abstract, and any handouts you distribute you must include:

  1. The title of your poster
  2. The name(s) and institution(s) of the author
  3. Postal address, phone number, faxes number and an email address.
  4. 500 words or less abstract

You will have a flat surface of 4’ x 4’ to exhibit your poster.  A cylindrical or winged poster design will allow your poster to stand upright on the table.

Ensure that your poster is readable from a distance of 5 feet, which means the type font should be a minimum of 20-25 point. If you have detailed information you would like to present, this would be best in a handout.

Consider preparing a short (five to ten minute) verbal presentation for the attendees who have questions and do not forget your business cards.

If you would prefer different arrangements for your poster, please contact a conference planner at conf@ania.org. We will try and accommodate your needs.

You may bring your own easel, but please let the conference planner know.

Be aware that there will be no Internet access, and electrical outlets are extremely limited.

Setup/Teardown

  1. Your poster can be put on display from 1:00pm p.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2008.
  2. Your poster must be dismantled between 3:00p.m. – 5:00p.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2008

Mailing Your Poster

  1. It must be assembled in a presentation-ready format on a cylindrical or winged (tri-fold) poster board.
  2. The conference is not responsible for postal damages and will be unable to make repairs to damaged posters.  Please package and ship it appropriately.
  3. All mailing, shipping and insurance (if desired) expenses will be paid by the presenter.
  4. Mail to yourself at the hotel:
